Pomona State School has a long and interesting history spanning over 120 years. From its first incarnation in 1897 to the present day, the school has operated in several different forms and locations - servicing the local area and providing the community with a wealth of happy memories. We have uploaded a scanned copy of our centenary publication (quite a large file) - Celebrating the Past, Sharing the Future (24000KB, PDF) for your perusal. Hard copies are also available for borrowing from our Resource Centre.
Our school opened in its current location in 1976. While the school is steeped in heritage - with some children coming from families who have lived in the area for generations, there are many families who are relative newcomers to our popular little township. School events and other local festivities are well supported, and reflect a commitment to developing a community identity which embraces all participants, new and old.
We aim to make our school a warm and friendly place for all concerned – students, teachers, ancillary staff and parents. We belong to a school which values respect, learning and fun. Our experienced and dedicated staff are committed to making our school a great place to be every day.
