The rural town of Pomona has a welcoming village atmosphere, and our school community extends well beyond the town itself. Our students come from the all over the Pomona area and its surrounds - including Boreen Point and Lake Cootharaba; the nearby towns of Cooran and Kin Kin; along the Bruce Highway to Cooroy and Federal; and some families even travel from the Tewantin and Eumundi areas.
Pomona State School regularly participates in local community events such as The King of the Mountain, Anzac Day Services, Landcare Community Gardening, the Noosa Show, and Pomona Community House initiatives.
Likewise, we welcome and encourage community participation in many of our school activities, including educational workshops, volunteer programmes, weekly school Assemblies, charitable fundraising endeavours, and of course our wonderful annual showcase held in the middle of town - Pomona in the Park.
Pomona State School is very fortunate to have many generous artists, talented craftspersons, green-thumbed gardeners, and other willing workers in our community. These wonderful people have all made valuable contributions to the developing skills of our students, and beautification of our school surroundings.
