Eligible students are welcome to enrol in Prep classes.
Preparatory year in Queensland is compulsory prior to commencing Year 1, and is an important part of the total educational package offered by Pomona State School.
To be eligible to enrol in Prep, your child must be 5 years old by June 30 of the year they enrol.
Our Prep students enjoy a play-based curriculum, with an emphasis on developing early knowledge and skills in literacy and numeracy. The Prep classrooms and playgrounds are bright and spacious, and staffed with highly experienced teachers and teacher aides.
Prep students wear our standard navy and gold Pomona State School uniform with a navy, sun safe hat.
Our Prep hours are the same as for all other classes - from 8:40am to 2:50pm, Monday to Friday.
