Pomona State School’s Curriculum Planning incorporates knowledge, skills and processes drawn from all key learning areas, in accordance with the Australian Curriculum.
The Australian Curriculum currently encompasses the subjects of English, Maths, Science, Humanities & Social Sciences, The Arts, Health & Physical Education, Technologies, and Languages (Japanese for our students in years 5 and 6)
Our Curriculum focuses on active investigation and appreciation of our world. We endeavour to scaffold learning activities from Prep to Year 6 using four key curriculum organisers:
1. Who are we and how do we care for ourselves and others?
2. What is our environment like and how do we care for it?
3. How do we manage change in our world?
4. What is special about our world, and how can we harness it for a better future?
We aim for planned and balanced learning experiences, designed to meet the current and future needs of our students.
Specialist Curriculum areas and co-curricular programs for students add to the overall education experience at Pomona State School.
